Guyz, you have to remember its an Ozzie car. All Oz built cars have indicators on RHS (opposite side to gear stick/shift), just like Euro built cars have them on LHS (opposite gear shift) Most UK cars are Euro built and are LHS to RHS switched, so indicators on LHS of wheel - Monaros and HSVs have the indicator stalk in the correct place for a RHD car. Its the Euros that are mixed up

Astras are built in Luton and have them on the lhs mate. (mind you, the are those horrible microswitched things Vauxhall fit for some reason)
Astras may be built in Luton, but they are designed and built for the predominantly LHD European market - are they British designed? or just another european that happens to be built in UK?

The correct side for the indicator is the right hand side. Those who think otherwise are misguided
British cars (ok were going back a bit now) were this way until the concept of world wide cars arrived. Then we were forced to accept it on the wrong side because the rest of europe drives on the wrong side of the road. We drive on the right side despite their claims!

yep, i do that too, and the indicators, monaro and zafira, pain in the arse.
you would have thought they would make it standard by now surely
...
Yes, it should be made standard. The correct side for indicators, as stated by others, is opposite to the gearshift. ALL RHD cars SHOULD have the indicators on the RH side. Good luck trying to convince the lazy manufacturers who have copped out and settled on a LHD configuration.
I would bet that any Japanese car sold in LHD version has the controls reversed to suit...Forum | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
