Am I being thick...? I thought all the Monaro's were supposed to have LSD?
Was I mistaken and, infact, this is only reserved for the VXR model?

Cos if not why does my inside wheel spin up when I'm going sideways in the wet (haven't been sideways in the dry yet) if it's got an LSD?

to do with the fluid in the diff most likely, lot of people on here have been to see Monkfish, Greens, LSV etc and had it replaced, with Redline I think it is, plus friction modifier to make their diffs work better than standard. Been numerous postings on here discussing diff. Use the search tab between UK Drivers Club and Log Off for lots more info.

When the car goes sideways and I feed on more power to hold it out there it gets to a point where the inside wheel spins up and nothing more happens so I just ease off the throttle until it grips again and drive off hunting for the next wide corner...

With an LSD I'd expect both to spin up more giving me more angle on the slide and enable me to hold it for longer without the inside spinning the power away...

So if it is an LSD after reading the earlier reply and doing some searching sounds like a replacement of fluid may make things work a bit better.
I was just worried that if it does have an LSD it wasn't reacting in the way I'd expect it to at the limit... Still some warrenty left so if there is a problem I could get it checked out before it runs out in July...

Thanks

A lot of production cars with an LSD, have them set fairly tame. Its still safer to spin one wheel, than slide all the time, despite enthusiasts enjoying that more.

Take a Cossie Viscous Coupling LSD....they are total shite. They may work fine for a few weeks when they are new, but not much after that.

BMW's of old had a fairly aggressive LSD, although they went sideways pretty easily anyway !!

Get Monkfish to change the oil and tell them the problems and it will work 100 times better but take it easy ones it's done, first stomp on the gas will have it hangin right out.

Yeah you add friction modifier to suit the amount of slip you want.
Otherwise you get chatter at one extreme and no LSD at the other end.

Just been to Monkfish for a diff oil change and now I can get it sideways at every junction, corner and any other excuse for a power slide!

I can 100% recommend the oil change (with friction modifier) & Monkfish.
