Wortec - Electronic switching exhaust - loud or quiet
Discussion
the exhaust system is the same be it manual or electronic switching.......the manual sound change requires the changing of a blanking plate (6 bolts) to choose loud or quiet.
The electronic upgrade adds two valves into the system plus a control box which is all wired into an OEM button in the revised centre consol switch panel.
The loud sound is the same volume as the old system but has NO DRONE at all when measured at the tail pipe.
As for 04 systems, we are still on the case.............

Sorry, don't understand the pricing menu. What's the difference between a 'manual system' and an 'existing system'? Surely the existing cat back system is the manual system. Or, is the a new cat back system manual...but not as manual as it was....ie get underneath, unbolt it and awap it over by hand? Or, is the existing system the stock system...but then why would you change from a manual system to an existing system??
My brain hurts....I'm off to bed!

The existing system you need to add/remove the two large center boxes to change the sound.....the new one you just slide in/out a blanking plate on each rear silencer to change the sound.
the new system has no Drone on loud or quiet at any RPM/Load so you can just fit the blanking plate of your choice and enjoy.........OR if you are feeling flash you can add the electric pac.

I think £1150 is replacing your standard system with a cat back system and the manual loud/quiet thingie.
£599 is to upgrade from the above at a later date.
£699 is to add the loud/quite thingie to you existing non standard cat back system that you bought earlier pre loud/quiet thingie.
£1290 is the price of the £1150 and £599 upgrade if they are done together replacing your standard system.
I think, beer helps when you read it, maybe

Not enough beer I fear.
From what I've been told
For those with STD OEM Exhaust system.
£1150 will buy you a Wortec tuned Cat Back system with a Manual Loud Option. This option requires spanners to move a blanking plate on each of the rear boxes.
Add £599 and you will get two electric valves plus all the wiring and an OEM switch in the cab so you can be loud or louder at the push of a button. No spanners needed.
For those with existing Wortec systems.
£699 Will buy you replacement rear boxes and give you the same as the £1150 system above. The manual blanking plate is considered to be an easier option than the current removing and replacing the centre boxes when you want extra loud or loud
Add £599 (total £1298) and you can have the in car switch as above.
In either case a remap, cold air intake modification, and performance air filter are NOT included in the cost so add another ££££££
NOTE: This system only fits 05/06 models.
But there again I could be wrong.....
Edited to include cold air intake modification, and performance air filter.
Edited again to remove the cold air intake modification, and performance air filter.

The new system in either mode has a much sweeter note also, and has minimal cabin intrusion compared to the old system, unless windows are down, but from the outside sounds as loud as previous. The button opens up a whole new world of fun, scaring drivers after you have stealthed past them, being considerate in the early morning, and playing for the crowd on the faster roads etc etc.
