you have to start somewhere. I decided to not pay £2500 to insure a monaro and wait till the 25 and over bonus kicks in. Till then i have bought a Ex BT fleet Astra coupe to help me cover my 25000 miles a year. As you can see from the pics it is in what some of you would say is the fastest colour.

nice car anyways. few subtle mods and you'll get a few more ponies out of it. All got to start building up the no claims one way or another.

To be honest, i don't think theres much of a reduction when you hit 25.

From what i found there was a massive drop. As in 4-5 times cheaper. That quote was based on a 22 yr old doing 25,000 miles a year of which 7,000 are business, with 4 years no claims and a recent SP50. Found a lot of companies wouldnt even talk to me about the monaro unless I was over 25.

Quite happy as it is at present, although it does look as if it is sitting a bit high. Few centimetre lowering set maybe first on the list.

You should have got some quotes for a 1993 Z28 Camaro. 5.7L 6 Speed. Group 16 insurance.
I paid £350 fully comp a few years ago. Cheaper than most other cars, due to LHD etc.

Happen to be a bit of a fan of Astras ('cept the slug that's on Greens loan fleet - I could walk faster! .. )

Still trying to persuade the Missus to have a VXR as her next car.

Astra Coupe is a good all round car, very well built especially inside.

Have you tried Elephant for a quote? Im 23 and got quoted just shy of £900 for 12months admittedly doing alot let miles at 10k per year but didnt think it was a bad price.

I wonder how you would go with a commodore v6? Got Jagsy's ride insured the other day with A plan for £449, no claims discount, value of £16k.

Sincere apologies for possible thread hijack here, but do you mean his HSV GTS? I'm just about to renew my insurance, and have been quoted £650 by A-Plan, which I thought was reasonably decent. If your £449 is for a GTS I'll go back and 'ave a word!
