Speedo signal cable location??
Discussion
speed sensor is on bottom left at rear of transmission, got a picture of it here in my "Haynes" manual for the Monaro, its also got all the electrical diagrams at the rear but cant see anything obviously marked as driving the speedo in the instrument cluster - only thing I can find mentioning the speed sensor is a tan coloured wire running from the "electronic automatic transmission" to the "Power train control module", then a purple and black lead from the ptcm to the efi relay which then changes to a purple and blue wire into the instrument cluster. Wouldnt like to assume its going to be the same for a manual transmission. According to the book btw to get at the speed sensor you need to drop the transmission a few inches.
If you just need to find a speedo pulse wire for maybe sat nav input, i tapped into the wire near the instrument cluster connector.
Not sure about later series, but on my VX it was the violet/white stripe wire that goes to the #17 pin on the cluster connector behind the dash.
Check to see if yours is the same.

There are a couple of pics I took related to the speed signal wire to the dash in my blog thingy, which may be helpful if you are chopping into it.
