GTS-R for sale
Discussion
So you just deleted the entire advert?
Nice.
I can see your point though. It was entirely inappropriate to give the HSV forum a heads-up that my GTS-R was coming up for sale. I guess I got off quite lightly just having the text deleted - for a crime as severe as that I'm surprised I wasn't ejected from Pistonheads completely.
I assume you had the decency to save the text before you wiped it, so I won't have to type it all in again?
Nice.

To be fair to the mod who did this, it's not hard to work out that adverts are only allowed in the Classifieds section. If you'd put it up there and then just mentioned it here, nobody would have had a problem.

I wasn't expecting it to "magically reappear". I would expect anyone with an ounce of good manners to save somebody else's work before they wipe it. It would have taken 5 seconds to copy it and probably another 15 to PM it to me.
Er, and the good manners don't come into play when posting stuff on the forum that's not allowed? Get over it - retype your advert and get people admiring your, from what I remember of seeing it for sale before, very impressive car

OK we'll let's drop it. I think it is extremely offensive just to wipe someone else's post, even if they HAVE committed the cardinal sin of posting an advert not in the classifieds (shock horror). Even if you understand the reason for such a rule that is so incredibly strict (and I have to confess I don't) there are polite ways to remind people if they inadvertently break them, and there are lazy, offensive ways to do it. Nobody else agrees; so let's leave it at that.
Maybe a private E-mail asking the "offending" party to remove a post might be a way to do it in future to save all of this. It wasn't the bloody crime of the century, and if not a regular poster the rules and regs can easily slip peoples minds.
Probably no malice intended on either side.

zadumbreion,
I have sent several emails to you, but you seem to want to do it public rather than return them.
Yes, I deleted the Ad and I am sorry that the text was lost I assumed an advert that long would have been keyed off-line and copy/pasted. I did offer to ask Ted to see if he would recover it but you never responded.
Finally, PH Ts&Cs says car Ads go in the classifieds and Ted even added a link direct to the Holden/HSV/Monaro classifieds to the menu bar at the top to make it easy to find our models
