Well it feels like it! Just changed my alternator and the difference in power is amazing. I can only presume that the old one was not putting out the correct voltage/current and that this was starving either the coil packs or the ecu. I must admit that the dashboard was not as bright as is it now either. I was begining to put it down to me getting used to the power confused All this was achieved with the bonnet closed I might add

The strangest of all is that the fuel consumption has dropped dramitically. I just filled it up and thought it was Christmas - the computer says 700 miles to empty - I think I've broken it hehe Either that or its converted itself to kmh when the battery died. Anyone care to point me in the right direction for the onboard computer and its functions?

The fuel issue will settle down within a tank or two. Mine did the same when I changed the voltage regulator and brush assembly.

More likely due to the reset of the PCM and fuel trims. Unless the old one was causing a heavier load or something.

Ok I will watch it and see what happens. Also when we undid the alternator mounts, the alternator fell in half, It had vibrated itself apart eek
