Now I know why these cars aren’t for Sheila’s! My wife likes to lock herself in when travelling late at night on her own, especially when crawling along in built up areas. All of our recent cars have had the facility to lock the doors from the inside with the push of a button.

The VXR scores quite high in that you can leave the passenger door locked, simply by not unlocking it in the first place (one press of the unlock button), the boot needs to be unlocked from inside or with the key buttons and with no rear doors the rear of the car is covered. I guess I will need to get an auto electrician to look at locking the driver’s door with a button on the inside, maybe use one of the blanks on the centre console. Has anyone else come up against this problem or better still overcome it.

Please don’t suggest divorce, I am still paying for the last one!

Umm, think might be missing the point here, but can't you just lock the drivers door by pushing down the lock? That is what I do..

I had assumed that would knacker the door lock or the central locking?

Nah, when you are in the car, you can lock the door no worries, and if the other one is unlocked it will automatically lock it as well.

Think they can be set to auto-lock over a certain speed via the mode menu function.

time for multiple choice:
a) does he have an 05 or later model?
b) does he have a large wife?
