What advice can anyone give with regard to improving the handling of the Monaro. It's easy to get it to go fast; quite simple to make it stop; but what about making it go round corners better and grip better.

I want improved handling but I don't want to shake the fillings out of head everytime I drive the thing. I do a mix of driving of perhaps 2000 miles per month varied between motorways, A&B roads and some town work.

Any advice?

American forums seem to swear by Pedders kits for improving the handling. Monkfish offer their own custom handling package. Both these options would cost around the 1500-2000 mark iirc. For a cheap and cheerful upgrade take a look a companys like Whiteline for adjustable front and rear sway bars, can be had for a couple of hundred quid.

I used to have the KW Variant 2's on a Volvo C70, totally different car however even on the softest setting they were unbelievably stiff for road use, had particular trouble getting the front end to stop bouncing on sweeping bends.

Plus sides though they didnt even show a slight bit of rust after a couple of years, were very easy to adjust the height and went stupidly low if you wanted.

The variant 3 have low and high speed damping, in theory if you hit a large bump a larger valve opens so you don't get the big hits thru the car.
