I was wondering if you could tell me if EFIlive would run on a PDA? Windows based obviously.

No sorry, win32 only at this stage.
Win98+ pretty much, Windows 2000, XP, Vista x32 etc.

Depending on what you want to do V2 will read codes etc without a laptop now.
It also has support for reading, writing tunes, logging without a laptop etc but this functionality isn't available for download yet.
Everyone is waiting for this feature to be available.

I've also just realised the despite my car being OBD1 I have the 16 pin OBD2 connector. Does that mean I could get a cable from you now? Aparrently, the only connections I need are pin 6 for GND and I think the other was 9 for the data stream?

If its OBDII protocol no problem, but if its OBDI protocol with the OBDII socket there may be issues.
Im pretty sure OBDI is a serial protocol and OBDII on the LS1 is Variable Pulse Width.

Where are you located? I have a spare demo unit I can send you or if you are close we can meet up and test it. (Ok I see you are in Edinburgh)

It an OBD2 socket with OBD1 protocols. I have the evaluation copy of efilive 4 as I dont need the features of the later software. All I need is a connector to run from the port to my laptop. I believe obd1 uses baud rate 8192 on pin 9 and pin 5 for earth.

offer still there but this week is kinda busy, monday and thursday evenings or before 9pm on tuesday. 20mins from livi - could meet up at newhouse hotel if you didnt want to navigate into motherwell itself.

I don't think your setup will work Bob. From what I can tell it's not backwards compatable. My connection uses different pins for different jobs than yours. Again, thanks for the offer though.
