Can anyone help clear up the warranty conditions on the Monaro?
I booked my monaro into Approach at Aldershot when it was ten months old for electric seat problems, “not going back and forward without jamming up” and when re-starting up after a half hour car starts up then cuts straight out straight away, and a rattle in the passenger door. They just gave it back to me and said they all have these problems, and if I wanted the rattle sorted out I would have to pay. So I went somewhere else.
I booked in both company monaro’s at Picadors Southampton for the first service and a small list of faults, what a difference! Immediately the receptionist said there was a re-call on the jerky seats and actually appeared interested in his job. Every thing was sorted out on both cars, but apart from paying for the services we were charged for a hand brake adjustment on one car that had done at the time less than 5,000 miles. I paid the bill because the rest of the service was so good, but it was explained to me that Vauxhall don’t pay for rattles or adjustments. It’s a bit sad seeing as the car is Vauxhalls flag-ship and at the time cost the best part of 40,000 and I purchased two.
Both monaros are under three years old and both have covered under 10,000 and have small problems like the seat belts don’t rewind back, and the central locking doesn’t work on one car. Perhaps Greens whom I can see are very active on the gassing station could post a list of what is or is not covered up to the third year.
Thanks Sean

Will be interesting to see how depreciation goes when warranty is up.
With jag's its insane. Best time to buy is just out of warranty.

Maybe one of the main monaro dealers might offer and extended warranty?
I know the 3rd party ones arnt worth the paper they are written on.
