Hi m8, Long time!
Never did buy the Monaro in the end, Belmont just arsed about so much I gave up on them. It took nearly 2 months to get the flipping deposit back so I won't be looking over there again. I was actually in the market for a new car last month now our finances are back in good shape, but Belmont weren't getting a look in. Bought a Prodrive RX8 instead. Here's hoping someone else gets the VXR8 sales.
Anyway, you might want to ask Catz over on the TRS forum. Her sister has the yellow CV8 around Livi. Her husband also has an Evo IX FQ360 so that might have been around Crail as well.

lo mate. sorry to hear you never did get sorted with Belmont - found a girl on another forum, only buying a corsa, but had same problems - took them 3 weeks to get it for her to test drive!!. last I checked that 04 VXR was still on their stock with the price down below 20k!
My local ie 1 mile from my front door dealer has been or is being bought over by Peter Vardy and the expectation is that he'll bulldoze site and build new facility with full VXR spec sales and workshop facilities which is handy. Good bunch in both the sales and service team there so should be an improvement for Scottish owners. They're fitting my VXR brakes week before the Brands Hatch BTCC event - give me a nice long run to bed them in properly. Keep an eye out for the new VXR8 when its available in June - might just tempt you to trade in again :-)
Cheers for the contact info for the other owner, will see if I can persuade her to pop in here. Was in Livi last night collecting spare clutch from one of the Corvette club members, boy are those things heavy with the flywheel attached, now realise why they didnt want to post it!!!

That's good news on the dealer front. Where is that then? Are you through in the west? I'm not surprised about the 04 VXR m8. I had a sneak peek at it before Christmas as I was semi thinking of going after it again once our practice loan was paid up, but they hadn't done any of the paint work I'd pointed out and it still looked a mess. If a decent dealer turns up I'll be interested in a year or two. Keep me posted. I still have to own an LS series before the government make them illegal and force us to drive 500cc cars powered with hamster shit! Still, the RX gives 18-20mpg so I'm doing my part in using up fossil fuels, just like you lot...
yeah through in the west, well 20mins west of you anyway  in Motherwell. Paintwork was a real letdown, looked like it had been washed with wire wool mitt when I was through at the end of December or I might have been tempted myself. Well that and the missus would have cut off a part of my anatomy I'd rather keep.
