Gents

This is my first post here, Ive just got an 56 plate VXR Monaro at the end of January. I was going to wait until the end of the year, but due to my last car (a DC2 Integra Type R) being written off by a moron, I decided to move the date forward and get one of the last phantom black preregistered cars. Its definatley a lot more intimidating to drive than the DC2, but is probably a lot more forgiving at the limit. I was just wondering if anyone can provide me with the part number for a tin of touch up paint (or pen), as driving into work the other day I managed to pick up a small chip on the lower splitter. I went to my local dealer, who took 4 days to get back to me and reassuringly said 'were not really sure if this will be a match' and then proceeded to tell me that if it wasnt I couldnt get a refund as it was a special order part. Im particularly happy with both greens and picador as they were both very good when I was looking for a car, and Picador fitted the Wortec sport pack within a week of me getting the car. Are either of these dealers willing to post the part as a 60 mile drive is a long way for a tin of paint? Thanks for any help, John

I have just bought the same car John, so if you find out can you post the answer please? I work in Southampton from time to time, so I could collect paint and post on if that would help - I am Berks based, near Bracknell - Thanks

My pre-reg VXR came with the touch up paint located in the drop-down flap of the glove box. Check before you buy, cause it's bloody expensive for what it is - cost me over eleven (twelve?) pounds for my previous CV 8.

Gents, many thanks to all who replied. I ended up ordering it from greens, at less than 1/2 the price (including postage) my local dealer quoted me for something they werent sure of! Hopefully it will get here tommorow so I can do it then. The one downside that everyones told me about these cars is that vauxhall cant get the customer service right on £35k+ cars, I agreed with them when going to my local dealer (who is monaro approved), but both Greens and Picador have gone out of their way in my dealings with them, therefore Ill put up with the 60+ mile drive if the car needs any work doing and for services rather than the less than three miles to my local dealer. Thanks Guys, John
