Son's car broke down last night, many thanks to Tesco!!!

Only a few miles away so rushed down in the Ro only to find that there is no Tow Hook. Has someone nicked it? Am i blind?..probably, or is this a Holden feature?

Hehe, I'd never noticed! Is it just not a requirement in oz?

How does that work for trackdays? I thought you were expected to have towing eyes installed should you need to be removed from the scenery.

You take risk losing part of your bumper or valance, or a nice dealer can give a bracket that is used in the transporting of the cars that is used to tie it down on transporters etc that bolts to the rear of the chassis.

sounds like a handy thing to keep in the boot well though in case you ever need towed....how much to buy one of these?

They are not a listed part, most dealers just throw them away when they PDI the car. If you put a tow rope on one it would more than likely damage the valance at the rear of the car as it bolts underneath and a little way under not right at the back.

On some HSV models, I thought that you used the front cross member or something for towing on a race track??

The owners manual states on page 96:
Towing the vehicle
Attach the tow rope to the holes located at
either side of the front cross member.
