Don't ask why I was looking but where the seat tip handle is, yuo can look inside and my seat frame is seriously rusty. (600 miles car). I presume its been damp while stored. Anyone got any suggestion to avoid letting it get worse?
Hi
Call Jeff in service.....01634 246755 and discuss with him.
Hi there,
I have exactly the same problem on my passenger side in particular - Holden seem to build the frames and leave them outside before covering etc.
I actually complained to Vauxhall customer services in writting about this problem, answer was basically tough (my car was 5 weeks old at that point or less than 6 months old from build date).
Cheers
Steven

This is not a problem if its not in the guides, i.e. just in the covered frame.
A typical 'teardown' observation:
Manufacturers save money by not painting bits that aren't exposed to view or external elements.
Why go to the trouble of painting when, if the car is use for 100 years the frame is unlikely (10^-6 probability) to fail in its rated use.
If you dump it in a lake then premature failure may occur.
Even Mercedes can't be ar5ed to paint the seats, they've got to save weight somewhere (excluding convertibles of course).
Cheers
