Any Ideas?

A few weeks ago, every now and then the immobiliser light would flash on and off when driving. It might stay on for a few minutes or an hour but then go out.

It's now "0n" all the time even when the ignition is off and the car is locked / alarmed.

I can only assume the immobiliser has packed up, but would welcome any comments or advice.

Surprise surprise the supplying dealer says there's no fault according to their diagnostics. When asked if the warning light was installed for a reason they are slow to comment.

Dealer might be scanning the ECM and not the BCM.
BCM controls immobiliser etc.

Problem is the dealer can't scan the BCM because he does not have the software. They can only suggest I take the car to an approved Monaro dealer ( something I already knew would be the case) and get them to have a look at it. Obviously at my expense, my time etc. This is turning out to be a bloody nightmare.

Any dealer can plug Tech2 in and scan for fault codes, Monaro specialists or not. A Monaro dealer has no different equipment to any other dealer.

Which has to prove how inadequate the dealer is. 20-minutes ago they suggested I brought the car to you guys at Greens - a round trip of 480 miles. The way things are going it come to that!

If my experience with incompetent dealers is anything to go by a 480 mile round trip will be nothing compared to the grief you might get by deciding not to What's worse is that the incompetence I suffered was from a supposed Monaro Specialist dealer. From my personal experience I really would advise you go to one of the Monaro Specialists who others from this forum can personally vouch for. It will be well worth it in the long run.

maybe you are more in the know but I know of 2 local dealers and the one I bought the car from that refuse to book it in for a service due to the fact their software cannot work with the car - they could be fobbing me off but its no worry now as I am going to Wantage with it

I should add that I used Greens to put right the failures of the other "specialist" and dealing with them was like a breath of fresh air. From the first contact right through to picking the car up they were superb in every way.
