first of all i am in no way bothered about the car being a 'vauxhall' (we could have all bought used M3's if we wanted a badge!)-however i do think the rear looks a little cluttered with all those badges (vauxhall,monaro,vxr)...

has anyone de-badged their rear (oo-er!) and if so how easy was it/any tips? I presume they are just stuck on but dont want to remove any paint at the same time!?

On the CV8 I used fishing line to "slice" through the adhesive foam BUT there are two holes beneath the Vauxhall emblem in the steel so this may be a problem for you.

damn, i was worried that might be the case - thanks for the info, how small are the holes? and does anyone know if there are any behind the monaro/VXR badges? I'm thinking maybe remove all 3 and stick the VXR badge back on over the holes where the vauxhall badge used to be.....

I used a hair drier to warm the badges and then dental floss to slice them off. a little polish and there you go.

Same as above. 5 minute job. You can either use a mild polish or a de-greasant to remove the adhesive residue.

I removed the Griffin, 'Vauxhall' & Monaro badges and replaced with the Lion and an 05 'CV8' where the Monaro script had been.

The holes where the Griffin is situated are quite small but still visible esp on lighter coloured cars.

As far as I know Matt there are no holes under the Monaro or VXR, just the Griffin badge as previous post. The badges don't stick back on too well so you may need to source a new VXR badge before you start

Just removed all the badges from the boot for a customer to rebadge as HSV. No holes under any of them. This area is plastic too, not steel.

A bit of heat from a hot air gun, and then some panel wipe to get the glue residue off.

That would be the black VXR/GTO I saw then Roger?
The rear fog light kind of gives the game away however.

I've had the VAUXHALL removed for the back but left the Monaro VXR (500 was added later )

I took the VXR and vauxhall badges of with surgical spirit and a plastic windscreen scraper. Then got the adhesive off with autoglym tar/adhesive remover.
no holes to be found (05 VXR)
Ive just got "Holden" where it said vauxhall and "monaro"
looks much less cluttered
Cheers Neil

Minor point, but if your car is a VXR then you should rebadge it HSV, as the original car is a HSV GTO not a Holden Monaro (although the GTO is based on the Monaro). Picky, I know, but in Oz you would get funny looks and sniggers behind hands if you rebadged a HSV as a Holden (plus a huge drop in resale value from unaware or unscrupulous dealers). Just my 2c worth.

Yeah I think you will find your "tags" read HSV too.
