Just wondering how Monaros are perceived by the public. As a TVR driver (at the moment), most people love the car. So, what sort of reaction does the Monaro receive?

Cheers.

Generally ignored as most don't know what it is - good news in a car park!
When you have a diffrent exaust it does get noticed a bit more often

you dont get a monaro to be noticed, great stealth(ish) car

However, you do get a vxr with bonnet vents if you want some attention

I wouldn't be so absolutely sure about that...

I have never had anything but good comments. I am not sure about the stealth car bit though, just drive along a bit of road and look at how many people turn round to see what it is! If I had a quid for every time someone stopped me in a car park/petrol station/lights etc then I would have paid for the car several times over by now...

That may be something to do with having an exhaust that makes a TVR sound quiet though

I'd say the CV8 is quite stealthy. I get occasional looks and comments but always positive. People who appreciate such cars know what it is and people who don't, er, don't so it doesn't get undesirable attention. If sure a similarly quick Impreza or Evo would get a lot more undesirable attention and I'd be a lot more nervous leaving it parked up.

As a Vauxhall nut, running a mk2 Cavalier, they are percieved thus : If there are 2 cars I'd actually be prepared to own other than my Cavalier. one is a Monaro and the other is a VXR astra.

My HSV is the orange one Tiger mica and believe me its always getting people looking at it. just last sunday in a jam on the M56 more people were passing me and checkin me out rather than the road!! Its great when you pull up next to sum boy racers and their trying to look s"%t hot and you give it sum stick, they just dont have clue untill your about 1/4 mile away in front. Always forever getting people saying cool car mate and its a fab feeling knowing that you've got something unique. My Holden might not be as clean as a new Monaro but it does me perfectly for what i want it for. if anyone asked if their worth it i'd defo say yes.

Stealthy? Not with the sports exhaust. When I was lucky enough to have a trip in Mose's car I have never (and I mean Never!) seen so many people swivel their heads to get a look.

A friend of mine used to have a Lamborghini Diablo, but still the Monaro got the more looks. Weird but true.

Gordon Brown loves them too! When are we going to get a petition to get him and his endless stealth taxes out?

Same goes, and with mine being the nicest colour (yes that would be silver) I constantly get asked by random people in car parks, petrol stations, on the road if it's the same kind of car that's been shown on the beach/drifting with Kazama on Top Gear... laugh

I should say... passed a guy going in the opposite direction (heading into Wilmslow) this morning who was driving a Red VXR. Flashed my lights, waved - chap just drove straight past without even a glance. Now if other Monaro drivers don't even notice other Monaro's then that's proof that 04 CV8's are stealthier than a black cat on a particularly black night.
