Service due Wednesday.

Mine has a slightly sticky throttle (stays at 1500 rpm for a few secs returning to idle at standstill) so will get this checked out then.

Makes the engine bay quite hot and standing heat makes the aircon outside temp read hot (you can tell when under 40mph).

Thats the downsides so far - no mpg difference to me and car is simply ballistic. My favourite 'play' is overtaking following someone else doing the same, waiting for them to finish and then blasting past hehe

Very easy to do silly speeds - you lose the lethargic feel to the V8.

We've just put one on our 6.0 Demo Monaro and I'm finding it difficult to put into words how absolutly fantastic the car feels, believe me this is a different animal.
As Paul says it just feels as if it want's to go, no lag, all erge, just that infectious whine saying come on if you dare. JUST TOTALLY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

only have the low pressure one - no down sides :-)

a must have IMO. Dont think i need any more power to be honest (bit of a girl?) but then again i use it on a day to day basis as a company car.

actually there is a down side - anything the lower side of an rs4 feels very slow - which is bad as if you want to reploace it you have to spend loads of dosh! or buy a VXR8 ;-)

Good to see more action gowing on down at Southampton. It saves driving about 1000 miles to have a supercharger fited. Still need more information. {Intercooler}

I had the SC and intercooler fitted at Picadors the other week. Very neat install and pretty problem free.

If you are going to Brands you can have a look/drive/compare.

I thought the S/C mounts directly onto the inlet manifold, how is intercooling achieved?

Depends on the superhcarger. Some twinscrews have more like an aftercooler which is mounted under the gears.
Vortech's and prochargers etc usually mount the cooler in front of the radiator. Though I have seen a vortec kit with the cooler mounted off to the side of the engine under the bonnet.

It depends on your budget and power goals. If you want an easy to fit kit with room to grow and a tad more power now you can forget the intercooler. Though I think its like fitting headers without a catback and tune. Guys with intercoolers get way more power. A guy on the corvette forum recently put down 530+ RWHP, which is well over 600 engine bhp with a Keene Bell supercharger (cooled charge). Thats from a 5.7L too IIRC. However it depends how much power you want...

Was speaking to Brian from Greens last night. The intercooler is located in the void between the engine and s/c. If you plan to run more than 6psi (500ps) then you need one.
Thing is if you retrofit plan to add about 500pounds to the installation cost so prob worth thinking hard about where you want to finally be before you decide.

Would budget for a clutch as well. Just got my car back post service and with an uprated clutch and it was slipping for sure before on the standard one - much improved but slightly heavier (used to slip in third and fourth) - very solid now though.

Now I hear the TC a little more.....in 3rd and 4th!

Nice surprise to have the new number plates - thanks Andy & Chris (Picadors) wife liked them too.

Charge cooler, aftercooler, intercooler... who cares what its called.

What they do is pretty much the same in all cases. Cool the intake charge before it enters the engine.
