Is this for real, if so is it a kit that dealers can supply/fit??

yep genuine item, seen them for sale in Oz, does strike me as more than a little expensive though - could get a decent aftermarket Pioneer head unit with bluetooth and a single din adaptor for less than the cost of that kit. Half the price and I'd probably buy one.

what about the issue with the ohm rating on the speakers? I thought the ro had 2ohm just like Bose?

I like the standard set up but am getting more annoyed by the fact I have to retune Radio 4 about 5 times on my 20 mile trip to the missus. Also the aftermarket how does it tie in with the rearshelf subs?

gto forums in the US are probably the best place to look for answers to any audio questions, they've pretty much been there, seen it, bought the t-shirt when it comes to the install of aftermarket sounds in the Monaro though there are a couple of guys on here running aftermarket installs that can fill you in on the pros and cons.

I've got a Parrot 3100 Bluetooth thing in mine. Works a treat - mutes the radio when you make/recieve a call, etc.

Sub £90...

Got mine from Halfords about twelve months ago. Plays through the radio, turning it on and off automatically, and all in all very pleased with it for £75 fully fitted.

That's very good value! Is that going through the standard radio? I don't think my kit can turn on the std head unit but works perfectly through the speakers when it is on.

It's the Nokia CK-7W I have with dash mounted cradle (it's bluetooth too) and extra antenna.

I fitted that kit because I liked the 'factory look' works ok.

Yes, it plays through the standard radio, turning it on when needed, and off again at the end of the call. Its a Pro-Wave unit, and takes about a hour to fit, plugging in the back of the head unit. No external ariel, but reception seems as good a the Nokia unit I use at work. I've had two fitted, technically, I suppose, one as the same one was fitted in both my Monaros. Both were excellently fitted by the same guy. Would definitely recommend them (and the fitter!)
