HSV GTS small (but major) window problem

Morning all,

Have a small problem with a major effect, so to speak. This morning pulling into the car park at work, went to close the drivers' side window. Huge bang, window starts to slide down in its mounting, and bits rattle round in the door. Must be the window pull cable that's gone it would appear, or something like that.

Now, the question is, is this a big problem to fix and who can fix it? I've pulled the window up manually, but it's most likely not watertight and obviously is a potential security problem.

Any help or experience with this sort of situation would be greatly appreciated, it's my only car at the moment and I have no garage so bit of an issue there.

You might be lucky and the guts from a Monaro will fit.
Check with the usual suspects. LSV/Greens/Monkfish etc.

Just trying to find out whether the Monaro part will fit. What's the best way to find out though - trawl forums?

Also, what's the name of the Greens parts manager? Will call them now, just seem to remember there was a specific name to talk to.

Hi all,

Thanks for your help on this, have got an interim solution while parts are being sourced. Looks like the Monaro part will fit, if not I'm hopeful that it's a standard Commodore part and not a bespoke HSV item. Can't see why there'd be any need to "HSV" the window mechanism, but you never know
