have noticed a lot of talk of removing and or replacing of badges on the monaro and I myself am missing my vxr badge from the tail and want to get a few HSV badges eventually. however the one decal which I got rid of as soon as I could ( the SRS airbag decal on the pillar behind the doors) doesn't seem to bother most owners as the pictures I tend to see on the net still have them. When I first picked up the car I couldn't believe my eyes that they would put such a decal on the outside. I can understand inside the car over the area where the airbag is located so you know where it is but even the one in the monaro is a bit of a joke and will have to go ( saw one on ebay that had HSV in large print and in smaller letters "srs airbag"
. It would make more sense if it was a cheap car trying to impress upon you how much money they had spent on safety but not on a car that cost 37K, you just expect it to be there. it would remind me of the time on top gear i think when they were testing out the new viper srt 10 and all the health and safety warning stickers all over the car. we shouldn't worry so much about the police state and worry more about the growth of the nanny state.

Now to find the right spot to fix it to, and not put it on half cocked, or Aussie style (upside down) well i have just had a liquid lunch........Hic
The SRS badge on the B pillar is for the emergency services to let them know that there is a side airbag.
God forbid you have an accident and have to be cut out, you'll be glad you left it on.... as cutting through the B pillar not knowing there is an airbag there, might activate the bag and if you're sat in your seat with neck injuries.... a deploying airbag is the last thing you want - believe me.
I'd live with it if you can.

oh well, live and learn. not having been in a car accident in a long time I never thought of it that way. So how come European cars don't display such a warning label. i know my Audi has side airbags as do most Merc's but there is no external indicator of such. any way my srs stickers are gone and I wouldn't replace them now.
Don't forget these are Aussie cars, airbags are still "relatively" new here... and still seen as a bonus, especially in a market where passive safety (ie protect me in the accident I'm going to have) are seen as more important than actually making the accident less likely to happen.
As for "new tech" like sat nav
I would be surprised if even a poofteenth of a % of new cars here have that option ticked.

Just for info - the side air bags are fitted into the seats, not in the B pillar, the 'G' sensor is at the base of the pillar tho.
