Good morning fellas,

Some of you are familiar with the setup I have on my car. I believe I am at the point where I need to stay and not fuzz with much else. The car has plenty of power as it sits and can readily provide more. The plan is to upgrade the intake side with a 115mm intake tube and a 102mm throttle body. But when do you draw the line?

I am enjoying car and drive it daily. I specifically bought a second car (2000 BMW 318i) for daily commuting but can't be bothered driving it. Surely some of you feel the same way.

Right now, I am having some shifting issues on the 1-2 shift. This affected my times at pod since I really couldn't power shift at WOT. Maybe it's time for a rebuild? I don't know. Is it the clutch acting up? I don't know. Thinking ahead and planning for worse case scenario, I'd like to begin looking around for someone who can rebuild my TR6060. Is there anyone local to Germany or UK that you would recommend? I can probably get the parts stateside and have them shipped to me unless said company has very competitive pricing.

I am open to suggestions and ideas so please let me know!

When you say "power shift", that sort of implies either not lifting your right foot, or not using the clutch ?

Either of those wont make the box happy for a shift.

I'm sure Gearboxman could rebuild, or I presume Monkfish have people they use to rebuild.

If they're anything like a T56, they're a pretty straightforward box so shouldnt pose any problems for anyone who does that type of work

How about fitting the sequential shifter someone posted on here a while ago?

The TR6060 in the CTS-V came with the no-lift shift capability. While it may not be "good' for the box, the car was designed to take that abuse. At the same time, I am sure the life of the trans is diminished when driven hard especially with this much TQ.

I'll give the guys at Monkfish a call to see what they can do for me. I prefer to stick to a traditional manual since I drive the car daily and would not really enjoy a sequential or big money custom setup.

That was for the T56 where stick bolts to box.

6060 uses a very different shift linkage.

Plus at USD $2700 for the shifter....that's near the price of a new gearbox anyway lol

it might work out more cost effective to have someone like tickshift or rpm transmissions to build you a new box and have it shipped

Yea that's what I've been thinking just order one and have it shipped. If I were in the UK I'd probably get it done there and have the rebuild kit shipped to me from stateside.
