Hi.

I would like to put an OTRCAI on my 09 VXR8. I have only had it a few months but is has had work done to it by Monkfish in the past. Checking the receipts it has had the Wortec Sport Pac in 2009. Looking at the website today the Wortec Sport Pac comes with one but mine hasn't got it so I'm thinking it has been added to the package at a later date.

My question is, if I put the OTRCAI on would the remap need tweaked along with it?

Thanks in advance

You could find that a previous owner sold the OTR off it before selling the car on. Monkfish can tell you if it had one, and if so, I doubt it was remapped for without. If it did have one, find out if it was with MAF or Mafless, and replace - you should be fine. smile

You're probably fine, but OTRCAIs can get heat soaked. I don't know if it's called the same on the later OSs, but on my LS1 with OTR the intake air temperature EQ modifier definitely needed attention not to lean out when sat warm-idling. If your map is good this should not be a problem.

Just seen your post re OTRCAI. I have just fitted an Orssom make one from Australia to an 08 VXR8 which was fitted with a Walkinshaw performance kit air filter, cat back exhausts,re-map,new air filter.certainly noticed an increase in performance can't vouch for better fuel economy yet. No lights or warnings activated, no lumpy tick over etc, etc. appears all positive at the moment. The site is on the net speak to Robin, very helpful and knowledgeable ,in my opinion good company to deal with hope this helps you.

If it's Orrsom, then it uses K&N panel filter same as a replacement for Porsche 928 as far as I remember.

Only if there's no cold air flow through them.

Mine was always ice cold coming back from a pass at the pod. ( But stock intakes will heat soak when idling)

Yeah, clears nice and quick, but IIRC I'm halfway through 3rd before it's at ambient! No idea how much stock intakes soak - you would hope the stock tune could handle it, but I had to tweak the tune to avoid it creeping over 16+:1 once the IAT hits ~40C.

e: should clarify, I mean open loop...but you don't want that buggering up your fuel trims in closed loop either.

Thanks for all the advice. I have spoken to Monkfish and Walky and they both reckon it 'may' need mapped but can't be sure until one os fitted. Think a wee trip to England is in order. smile

V8NNH: I will drop them a PM and see whats what. Thanks for the information.
