When I search the forum and go to the first result I am unable to go back to the results page which means starting the search again, a bit tedious, am I doing something wrong.

I'll look into it and see what's occurring.
The interim solution for you is to open the individual results in new windows preseving the results page (right click, open in new window).
I've also found that the search takes a hell of a long time, often crashing. This is only using a couple of words and searching in say the last month. Doesn't happen every time but enough for me to just post a new question !!
