Hi All,
Does anyone increase their tyre pressure for winter storage? If so, by how much?
The reason is to avoid flat spotting. Please don't tell me to drive it! Summer use only.
Thanks, Jason

i also pootle it out of the garage every few months, just to move everything around a bit.

There are two types of flatspotting from storage.

One type will be lessened only a little by increasing the tyre pressure. This type will also not usually be permanent.

The other type will be made worse by increasing the tyre pressure. This type will be permanent.

Which type you will get depends on the materials used.

I wouldn’t increase the tyre pressure.

I’ve never increased the tyre pressures on either of my TVRs when SORNing over winter and I’ve never had any problem with flat spots. Admittedly, when I pop into the garage every couple of weeks I will push the car forward a few inches and then in another couple of weeks push it back a few inches. Then repeat throughout November to early April.

Buy some tyre savers as used on caravans but when they are not bolted down it's fun putting the car on and off them.
