I would say it depends how many miles you do between services.
I thought that tappets were at 12K service ?

Andy also Falcon charge alot for checking tappets if you are going there.

I would always advise getting the tappets done without fail.

Dont forget that the engine is pretty highly stressed.

It only costs me a couple of hundred over a stsndard service for the full top end check - well recommended

as regards falcon thats why i asked if it was essentiall bit miffed really as other places do it as part of service for less than £500 ,testing my loyalty.

iv heard of a few places checking them for £150-£200 plus an extra hour or so of labour if they need changed.
