Torque RVT - experience?
Discussion
Hi Tony,
Ian has a reputation of being absolutely fantastic mechanically, doing excellent TVR servicing work, with several happy customers, but apparently has strange working hours ??
I visited him when I first got my T350C five years ago, but didn't end up using his services myself.
Two other highly recommended indies are TrackVRoad (who I have used very very happily for the past 5 years and are simply brilliant) near Clitheroe (they have courtesy cars available) and X-Works at Kirkham.

Ian @ Torque is the very best at what he does - but he doesnt work 9 to 5, once you know that you'll be fine
Works for me as whenever you need to drop the car off after work he's always around, just dont call in the morning as chances are he hasn't finished till mid night the night before
I need to call him to book mine in this week, so may even see you there

ian @ torquervt knows everything there is to know about tvr's
he has been servicing mine for years , any problem and he is the man.
he used to work silly hours but over the last year or so he has become more a 9-6 guy
but will stay late if a job is important to his customers.
i highly recommend him to all.

Yup, have to agree with the above comments. Ian is a sterling chap & really knows his stuff. He's been looking after my T350 for the last few years now. His knowledge, workmanship & bend-over-backwards to help attitude go above & beyond! The last time I had a bit of an issue, he stayed late working through until breakfast on Xmas eve. Even though he was due to fly to Bahrain later that day! Just so I could have my car over Xmas & the new year. Champion!
He's a night owl, for sure, but so am I, & that suits me just fine.
He's also wickedly funny - After recently having fully adjustable racing suspension & 4 new tyres fitted. He's showing me how to adjust the settings (1=softest, 12=hardest) It's winter & piddling with rain & I ask, "so, you set them somewhere around the middle for me then?" "No lad," comes the dry, northern reply "I've set them to 11." A big grin appears on his face & he says,"You might want to go a bit easy with the loud pedal until you've scrubbed your new tyres in."
I scared the cr@p out of myself & some poor old dear on the way home as I rounded a corner a little too fast & slid, tyres squealing like a Hillbilly-buggered Burt Reynolds, right at her, causing her to leap into a hedge & me to have to use a crowbar to release the clench in my buttocks.

Ian is a genuine good guy that will always do his best to help, real old school that is his own worst enemy at times as his workshop always has a good 10 cars 'work in progress'. Just be prepared to work with him on deadlines, believe me, it is worth it.
Excellent facilities and will always be my prefered choice even though I now live 140 miles away, the old girl always returns home for Ian's special touch. Great depth of information and contact resource for those bespoke projects, doing my Hi Spec big brake conversion where the larger rear discs needed my 350 uprights changing, to retain standard calipers, for Tuscan 2 units which were found and fitted.
If he can find the time, very trustworthy solution.
