which battery?
Discussion
Tried a search but no joy, need a new battery for the T350,so what type is best to buy?
Also are there any potential problems i need to know about after ive connected up the new one,or things i should do before i dissconnect the old one.
Dont know if it makes any difference, but ive got a 4 litre with heavy duty starter motor.
Thanks in advance chaps.

Disconnect/reconnect the terminals in the correct order (-ve first AND re-connect it last)
Mount it securely otherwise its an MOT fail (not all batteries have the lip to fit under the plate on the chassis)
Most important:
INSULATE THE +ve TERMINAL & CABLE BY THE CHASIS PROPERLY & CHECK THE ANDERSON CONNECTOR IS SOUND. (you don't want a crispy car they tend not to drive very well!)obikaii said:
Nice one guys, thanks for the replys.
Will order one asap,& bung it in at the weekend.
All i need now is a jack thats low enough.
Drive onto a couple of blocks of wood if you can't get a low entry jack. Clarke do one but its about £100, Machine mart and Costco? also do them cheaper, not as good but they will do the job. Will order one asap,& bung it in at the weekend.

just checked with a mate of mine & he has a low entry jack i can borrow,i'll rope him in to help as well,he knows his way around cars.
gonna buy a abxagm axd26r battery, looks like the best one thats the right size, not cheap mind,£136.50 delivered,as opposed to around £85 for the recommended types on the various tvr specialist sites.

I spent about £65 on mine and its been OK for the last 4 years but I know there are some out there with bigger CCA's that help with starting especially in the cold weather.gonna buy a abxagm axd26r battery, looks like the best one thats the right size, not cheap mind,£136.50 delivered,as opposed to around £85 for the recommended types on the various tvr specialist sites.

I find our T350 is slightly higher at the back than the front, so I can slide a normal jack under the chassis by the rear tyres and then move it to the front. Will order one asap,& bung it in at the weekend.

Worth a try!
If you you look to get your own jack in future this is the one i use. I highly recommend it.

great info guys thanks a lot.
spoke to the garage that looks after my car & they reckon i should check the condition of the 100 amp fuse,as it sounds like its blown,so ive got that to do as well, another job to rope my mate in to then,he will be pleased.
is it an easy enough job to remove the airbox & replace the fuse?

Its a bit of a faff but easy enough. I replaced my 100A fuse with a 125A as others have done. spoke to the garage that looks after my car & they reckon i should check the condition of the 100 amp fuse,as it sounds like its blown,so ive got that to do as well, another job to rope my mate in to then,he will be pleased.
