I need to replace the rears on my T350 and looking at previous posts I'm going for 255x35 as recommended by many people. Now here’s my problem. I currently have Toyo T1R's on all 4 corners at the moment and not only have I found them to have amazing grip in all conditions; they also look good with a defined directional tread pattern, which i know sounds sad but there i've said it. They are no longer available in the size I currently have fitted, 235x40, or the new size I require, so I’m looking for something with as good performance and preferably a directional tread, but this may not be possible. Any comments/help/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Despite not being a top top brand (or price) Falken FK452s are very good and have the same pattern. Used them on my previous Tiv, T350C and others who also service their car at TvR have follolwed suit with good feedback

I also use the Falken 452's. Very happy with them. I have just bought some Federal 595 RSR's but not fitted them yet.

I've got two nearly new T1R 235/40's....approx. 6mm tread...yours if you want them, make me an offer? They were fitted to the front of my tamora but were rubbing on the arches so now have 225/35 sports. Also heard good things about the falkens and vred's....

I'll second these. A very good all round tyre for the TVR.

If you go for these you will need to change all 4 tyres. A directional on the front and Sessantas rear will make your car handle like a pig.

Thanks for all your replies.I had been looking at the Falkens and i think it is between them or the Goodyear Eagle F1 that everyone says is an exceptional tyre. I like the look of the Vredestein Sessanta but finances can only run to rears this month, so looks like this may be something for the future.

I've run sessantas on the rear with F1 GSD3s on the front without any issues.

The Sag is running the sessantas on the rear with Goodyear Eagle Assymetrics on the front without any problem.

Have run Goodyear Asymmetics, Falcon 452's and now Federal 595 RSR's on the Sag. First two are comparable in my opinion, the Federals are designed more as a track day tyre but i've driven the car in some of the recent downpours and the water clearance has been pretty good. No scary aquaplaning etc and in the short time i've had them on, the grip level is much higher than the first two, even in damp conditions.

Biggest problem with the 595's is getting them on the rims. Took literally hours for the fitters to get them on.

I posted a deal on here a while back about the 595's mytire I think it was. £120 a corner or something like that, cheap as chips.

Narrowed the choice to either Eagle F1 or Sessanta's, after finding prices on Camskil to be reasonable. Anyone whith any experience of usng both that can offer an opiion on which would be best

Used to have Sessantas all round but swapped fronts to Goodyear Asym F1s due to the rubbing issues with the higher profile (40 aspect) sessanta. I'd say the Sessantas are a good long lasting tyre, turn can feel a little soft whereas the Goodyears seem to be less understeery though how much of this is due to a shorter tyre wall its hard to say, but the rear sessantas are still very flush with tread despite trying to speed up thier demise (hence not swapped for Asym F1s just yet).
Compared to the Hancocks that were on before the sessantas were a revalation.

Have you had any issues with the different tyre front & rear?

Got the vred tyres from Camskill £260 for the pair. Will try to get the fitted before Silverstone on Saturday, but as got to be on site early, and mate fitting them as a favour, may have to wait a week

Be careful for the first bit they seem to take a long while to get rid of the release agent and can feel very loose initially.

Thanks for that. I'm going to the Asda day at Bruntingthorpe with Northants TVRCC, so will make sure they are scrubbed before then.
