Coming up the M4 in the Tamora and got a slight miss fire getting progressively more serious. Volts dropped to 8V and the engine cut out and now waiting for the RAC. Pretty sure it's not the big fuse so must be no output from the alternator. At least it's not raining is suppose. Anyone know what the alternator is from just in case the RAC chap can get one?

its a 100amp same as fitted to some (v8?) landrovers except the pulley is 10 spline on the Tiv and only 7 on the LR (from memory) and its a pain to swap pulleys by roadside. ps the pulley on the tiv is alledgely NLA so dont loose the old one!!!

It turns out that the fuse wasn't gone just not fastened properly at one end so was charging the battery intermittently. The fuse eventually corroded and made an open connection. Cleaned the connection and tightened correctly and was on my way.
