Got down to see the T350C today - it's a 2006 car in reflex charcoal - I have to say that it looked fantastic - it really did - in fact it's one of the best that I have seen. Its had an AJP clutch fitted less that a 1000 miles ago with uprated Bilstein shocks as well. Along with that it has a really strong service history and shed loads of bills for work carried out. I recon at least £7k's worth. Very few for failing parts other than an item hear or there and never for more than £50.
So hear is the rub!!!!!
I want to buy the car with my heart but my bloody head is saying slow down!!!
I am p/x a very nice 54 plate 996 C2 tip. Yes I know many will say that they are boring and don't deliver the visceral driving event that a T350 does and I don't have an argument to say otherwise! I drove T350 through some country lanes and it does feel "alive" in your hands - in fact I had forgotten how much of a handful TVRs could be - but it was great!!!!!!! However on the way back home (100 or so miles) my son drove the Porsche back and kept on saying what a really great car it was and pointed out that in over 4 years of ownership including a trip to the ring that all I had spend on it was for a new set of tyres and a full refurb of the wheels.
Has anyone gone from a 911 to a TVR and enjoyed the overall proposition?
Honestly any advice/thoughts would be really appreciated.

Very tough decision , you will kick yourself if the t350 plays up , and you will kick yourself if you don't get one at some stage as they sound mental even inside the car and are a true drivers car. Had a ride in a mango orange one a few weeks ago with sports exhaust , my head said no... at the moment .

Hi , I have done full circle myself , started with a 95griff then decided to have a 996 , have to agree did like the way the Porsche was easy to use car around town and had the performance if needed . But I went back to 99griff for 3 years , then decided to try a t350 , had it since march and I have to say they really do put a smile on your face . I say go for it you only live once , I don't think you will be sorry , good luck

This is my old car, only sold to fund the purchase of a Vantage.
It's a really good car, which two months on I still miss. It was my Pand J and treated accordingly !!

I had a Tamora. I worried about what might break. In nearly 2 years of ownership, it didn't miss a beat (apart from a window switch @ £200).
Have since owned various quick cars of varying sizes (Cayenne S down to S2000). In terms of bang for buck, nothing compares the a TVR.
So a month ago I bought a Tuscan S. Magic.

911s are ten a penny (no offence - just an observation of how many are sold). If you get bored / scared of the TVR you'll be able to pick up another Porsche no bother.

Alternatively you could go down the route I'm trying - sensible everyday car for the commute and T350 for the weekend!

Get the t350. Even if you decide to get rid of it in a year or so, it should have held its value better than the Porsche. They devalue at a rate equal to that of the euro... Like water...

I hope that's right wrt T350's! As to 996 depreciation - ouch! My C4S certainly took a tumble after about 3 years of ownership... Nice car though

Well - Bugger Bognor I've only just gone a bought it this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I pick it up in a couple of weeks.
I bought it from Tony Gilbert's - a top bloke and a fantastic "show room".
Ti was worth the 200mile round trip just to see his place and all of the TVRs he has.
Highly recommended - so far.

I've just seen that one of your past drives was the 450 seac - stuff of legends, I always lusted after that or a Lister lol.

Dead right on that one I lost nearly 4 grand on my 996 in a year I bought my griff had it three years and got same money for it when I sold it . I can't see any other make of car that you can do that with these days , may be in the classic section
But that's about it .

I went from Porsche to TVR.
You'll never regret it.

It will cost a few bob to keep it straight (don't even try and convince yourself the low depreciation will make up for it) but it will be money well spent.

Its a car that becomes part of your lifestyle! It sounds downright wrong to say that, but you'll know what I mean within a couple of months.

Just sold seac about 3 weeks ago , bit of a shock , no tvr for first time in 8 years , its like coming off heroin !

Hi all - many thanks for the great feed back - I still can't believe that I have bought the T350 - I've always admired them.
Anyway - I will pick the car up as I said in a couple of weeks. I had a relatively short test drive (the person who came with me to look at the car had to get back home earlier than we had hoped). So it was all a bit rushed - but the car looked spot on and it has a really strong service history and spend, in addition the car dealer has a good reputation.
So do I need to ask any specific questions before I get the keys and drive off into the .......?
He is putting a new MOT on the car - so that will show up any issues. A 12 month warranty (which I assume will be a third party one) though I think he has to stand at least the first month as a dealer.
I'm re-assured as the car belonged to a PistonHeader who really looked after the car with the bills to prove it.
ANY information really would be gratefully received.
Apologies for all of the questions - but don't worry once I have the car there will be LOADS MORE lol!!
