Does anyone know what type of fluid the T350 uses ?

Don't have my manual on me.

Also, is the stuff they recommend any good (or is it put in manual for sponsorship reasons like some of the other 'recommendations')

Yep, top performing stuff. DOT5 is less hydroscopic but doesn't perform any better.
