DB9 dashboard instrument cluster cutting out
Discussion
I own a DB9 (2006y) for 3 years (now 70,000 km) and never had this issue until recently. A month ago it happened only occasionally; now it’s getting very annoying. Whenever I drive over a bump or rough surface, the instrument cluster cuts out and restarts. The needles drop, the backlighting goes out, and the clock illumination on the center console also disappears. After just under a second everything comes back and works fine—until the next bump.
I’ve already removed the cluster and checked the connectors. Even vigorous wiggling of the plugs and the whole cluster won’t reproduce the fault while stationary. Any ideas where to look and what the fix might be? The car itself drives perfectly with no other issues.
