I have tried the window reset but it still goes up and down on steps and doesn't drop when you open the door.
Anyone else had this? I've seen on one post, remove fuse 83 and it resets the door module
It does, but 'steps' sounds like a mechanical issue.Anyone else had this? I've seen on one post, remove fuse 83 and it resets the door module
The early window modules get a bit flaky over time and can lose their memory. The fuse trick can restore them but they'll still go wrong again later. Mine have both been reset many times! They can be replaced with later modules if it bothers you too much.

Well tried all the fuse things, hard disconnect of the module and also a spare module and it's still the same.
I'm now thinking is it actually a motor issue??
Anyone else had this window up and down in stages issues?
Cheers

ian448 and 4.7AMV8 already gave you the correct answer.
As above I have bought another module and tried that and it still does the same so water in the module could be an issue but not on two different ones.If it's the regulator side of things can you buy the motor assy seperate or does it have to come with the whole reg?
Cheers

As per my previous , its the circuit board on the window regulator ! nothing to do with the door modules which are seperate from the regulator assembly.
If you look at the window motor theres a black plastic cover held on with a number of screws, remove the cover and low and behold theres a circuit board. Thats your issue

not sure about just scourcing another motor, the circuit board can be removed by unsoldering the 2 connections were it attatches to the motor you could then send it to a good electronics shop for testing and repair.
If you do and get it refitted I would drill a small drain hole in the bottom of the plastic cover to drain out any water and prevent further issues
This might give you an idea
