Vantage V8 convertible - rear screen coming away
Discussion
Hello,
Just in process of taking my 2008 Vantage V8 convertible off the road for the winter. During its last wash and polish before hibernation, I noticed that the lower right corner off the glass rear windscreen appears to have come away from the convertible hood. Since I only drive it with hood down whenever possible, this hadn’t been something I’d noticed. Something like 15cm along the bottom of the glass is clearly detached from the hood material.
Anyways, has anyone encountered a similar issue? Is it a straightforward DIY fix if so? And can anyone advise on the correct adhesive and steps to secure it back in place? Appreciate any advice, and clearly not a rush as it’s tucked up in garage now until the spring - but will be a welcome task one winter afternoon to get me out of the washing up…!
Thanks in advance.

Hi I have a similar problem with my 07 Vantage Roadster, after much research I found out what they used in the factory, it's called Teroson PU6700. There is no mention of having to use heat in the usage instructions, however they do recommend using Teroson VR10 Bonding and Presealing Treatment. The PU6700 comes in a double side by side syringe with mixing tube so you will need one of those guns that pushes the two syringe pistons at the same time. I also had to reglue the roof material that is folded over on itself to neaten up the window aperture. Also get a kit of window clamps like these; https://www.amazon.com.au/Giant-Suction-Clamps-Con... to secure the window against the material once it has been glued.
Hope this helps,

Hi Raoul - super helpful! Thanks very much for the advice - I’ll get on with finding the adhesive you mentioned and those clamps look like a good shout too. I think the double barrel guns can be found at screwfix IIRC. Thanks again very much! JohnHope this helps,
