Decided to part with a MY24 992 GTS and get back into a V12.
I've seen a couple of cars i'm interested in but one stood out because its wildly different from the usual greys and silver cars i seem to gravitate towards.
One car is a xenon grey with Black interior on 15k miles. 19 plate. The other is a '20 year on 8k miles.Intense blue.
This is the car that i cant make my mind up on as its so different from anything i've had before.
The Blue one carries a £14k premium.

Im slightly worried that the colour will wear thin after a while and even considering getting the roof wrapped in gloss black which was a factory option as i think that looks great.
The intense Blue is better specced with ventilated seats, Bang and Olufsun etc.

What's the consensus here as i rather like the menacing look the darker coloured Astons have but the Blue one has thrown a curveball!

Cheers

Subject to seeing it, I think blue is a very saleable colour and much more interesting than monochrome. Good colours are rare on most Aston models. The extra £14K is probably down to it being a newer and lower mileage car. And it has a better spec, so case closed IMHO!

Intense blue is stunning, its not worth a 14k premium though.

Xenon Grey seems to be the default choice for an Aston of that age.

The cooled seats and B&O sound system would be a big draw for me, but it would depend what the interior is like?

Personally I’m not a big fan of coloured steering wheels.

This is the car looked at yesterday .I like the interior but would have liked the Geode stitching but guess yoiu cant have it all unless speccing from new.

As undecided today as i was yesterday!
I've no qualms with this being more expensive as said above, its a newer car, a bit more carbon, ventilated seats etc. but not to everyone's taste i suppose.

I tend to keep cars a year or so so resale has to be part of the equation.

Edited to say no coloured steering wheel!

I don't see the difference in money as being a" premium " but just relative to the slightly newer age but more importantly half the mileage.
I like Intense blue a lot and don't think you would get bored of it that quickly.
My only caveat would be perhaps you might however get bored of the interior colour a bit quicker ?!

Both Xenon and Intense blue are stunning on the DBS and I’d looked at both when considering. I’d say the interior is more of an issue with that one for resale. It’s polarising for your average DBS buyer who is into more restrained hues ! On a Lambo or McLaren it wouldn’t affect the pool of buyers imho.

Both good points above.
Perfect world id prefer the seats in 'Dark Knight' to match the dash.
Other than that ive considered having the roof wrapped in black gloss but half of me thinks im making too many concessions and should opt for the Xenon car and play safe come resale time or sit and wait it out for something better specced in one of the more monochrome colours.

As someone who is also looking for a DBS (specifically not blue as Ive had all blue cars for a decade!).
The blue looks great. And i know Xenon looks stunning on the DBS.
But the blue interior will put off a lot of punters come resale, if you planned to keep it a decade no big deal...but if as you say you're likely to change it in a year then that ought to flavour your decision a little.

Buyers can be very picky (as you know!). I want a bright colour for instance. Though id 'settle' for Xenon or simply buy black (which i dislike generally ) and colour PPF it. But im quite specific in what i want in the rest of the spec....B&O for instance near the top of the pile. It amuses me when dealers highlight a car as having Aston 'Premium' sound...as if theres a non-premium smile

The price difference is indeed i believe down to the spec differences (B&O, more carbon..) and age.

Exactly.

However as you say the interior is a bit lively for my taste - though what I like isn't relevant of course.

The OP's idea to do nothing and wait for another to turn up that he likes better is a good one. When I was looking for Vanquishes there were several occasions where I wanted the outside of one car with the interior of another!

Yup.Having specced 2 Aston's from the factory and both times with the assistance of my both my wife and more importantly the Salesman who had once worked in the factory on paint it was interesting to walk round the factory and see just how many cars in production either adhered to our combined thoughts or went polar opposite when it came to interior's and more particularly " clash " with exterior.
The brighter the paint the more subdued interiors seemed to be the sensible thought not just for resale but just for day to day living.Black interiors with then perhaps contrast stitching or even the odd contrast stripe ( in the same colour as the exterior ) always seemed to work better.
Country of use might also be a factor as of course is simply personal choice and likes !
Against all that , speccing an Aston is still a great experience and I count myself fortunate to have been able to do it.

Lovely colour, but interior would be a no for me. Also dislike the black wheels on that particular combination.

I reckon that’s sat there for sale because of the interior unfortunately. And you will get knocked on sale/trade-in when you come to move it on. Seen it happen many times with colourful interiors.

But if it’s to your taste and you like it, it’s only money so why not!

Thanks for taking the time to reply all.
I'm going to talk to both supplying dealers again to keep them in the loop, If there is a deal to be done better than the current ones i'll revaluate and go from there.

Hopefully something turns up soon before the winter sets in!

This is my take as well. The exterior colour is gorgeous.

If the one at Newcastle is still for sale whilst more muted than Intense ( its Mariana Blue ) and many more miles (60k ) the interior is far more suited and the calipers have been matched to the seat detail -it also has silver alloys.
May not be what you want but at a quick glance it looks (imho ) fab.

Ive limited my search to cars under 20k miles but ideally sub 10k.
There is the Belfast car with Charles Hurst with just over 15k miles. however no seat cooling or B+O. Seats are lovely, black with Geode stitching but just piano black interior trim.(Same as my 520D!) It does however have new front tyres and cost to get over is negligible.

Its only the milage putting me off that car as depreciation curve is less as its already 14k cheaper.

It appears that I am in the minority, but I rather like the color combination as is.

I like it but wonder if it will become a little tiring after a while. I had an Ocean blue Porsche many years ago with metropole blue leather. Loved it to begin with but slowly fell out of love.

We’re all different though so what do I know smile
