Aston Martin recall reference RA-41-2086

I think all of the above is correct. It seems to detail the worst possible consequences and the proposed actions, but counter-intuitively doesn't imply that the vehicles are unsafe to drive until inspected and remedied as required.

Only trying to reassure you.
Has there been an inquest?
Was suicide considered?
There were reports that Mr Barral was seen in a distressed state by a person who knew him.
Going too fast into a corner, usually results in going off the road at, or after the exit of the corner.
On twisty roads, note the missing sections of hedge after corner exits.
I seem to remember the tree was either in line with the corner entry, or at the apex.

AI's contribution;
No public confirmation or official inquest findings have linked mechanical suspension failure as the proximate cause of David Barral’s fatal crash.
The initial forensic investigation and [preliminary inquest proceedings] by the [West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Inquiry Team] focused on standard collision protocols. Due to the severe nature of the accident—the vehicle [burst into flames upon striking a tree]conducting a definitive mechanical teardown to isolate a pre-existing suspension break versus impact damage presents significant forensic challenges.
The public context regarding this inquiry is shaped by the following details:
- The Police Investigation: [West Yorkshire Police](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgv0l2jkw4o) treated the incident as a standard road traffic collision investigation, appealing primarily for dashcam footage and witnesses to evaluate vehicle speed, road conditions, and driver state.
- Witness Testimony: Early evidence presented at the opening of the coroner's inquest noted that Mr Barral had appeared visibly distressed and "very lost" while running an errand just 15 minutes before his vehicle left the road. This focused attention heavily on situational or medical factors alongside mechanical failure.
- The Global Recall Cross-Over: Because Aston Martin issued a widespread safety recall concerning a severe rear suspension arm defect on the DBX model line globally, automotive safety analysts have heavily scrutinized the model. However, UK authorities have not formally reported that this specific defect was the structural trigger behind Mr Barral losing control.
Are you able to have your own suspension inspected immediately?
