Afternoon, as per title really, anyone done it and was it worth the spend?

If you did whose pipes did you use or did you get a local fabricator to make you a set ?

Not had a 2021 car, but did secondary decat on my previous 4.7 and current V12S. Worth it for the noise alone, although there is a weight saving and some power released, maybe 10bhp.

Had some Larini decat pipes on the 4.7 and RPMotorworks on current car, both great quality and perfect fit, the latter are better VFM.

Did it on my F1, requires a tune to ensure you don’t get fault codes from sensors on the secondary cats. Made it sound better but the tune increased the pops and bangs a little too much for my liking

2021 has no sensors on the secondary Cats, only on the OPF filters which have already gone.

Surely on a 2021 AM6 the OPF were in place of secondary cats?

...hence why the likes of David Appleby offer cat delete pipes for earlier cars and OPF delete pipes for later ones.

You are 100% right, after some further investigation it appears I was getting myself confuddled, I have the DAE OPF delete pipes already... so might try an 11mode valve controller.

Only been out once in the last 3 days and that was just to Screwfix Hawley Lane!

This image of Red Road is from the Maultway side, and doesn't really show the dip at the bend, but coming from Lightwater I like to think of this as a mini Eau Rouge cool

These cars are just so nice to drive and an event each time so it's the only way!

I've had mine 2.5 years and been to France twice (Le Touquet and Dinard) and a trip back down to Switzerland this summer to visit friends and ex work colleagues - big tour planned for next year too. Careful packing (previous experience with an F-Type convertible with the same 200 litre boot) and it's no problem - especially with a CarPlay module fitted.

It's a car that looks so good it doesn't need to shout loudly too - even though that is nice sometimes - so I've held off on my initial desire for OPF delete, he says, trying to get this slightly back on track. wink

The OPF delete is only really noticeable in Sport+, get it done, I had Aston Keeper in Staines do mine, if you want to hear it let me, can always cross paths somewhere

Did your Insurance go up much or was it just a "noted" ?

When I checked with mine they didn't even say it would be noted - seen as an emissions part and therefore if it passes an MOT it's fine.

Interesting - is it not a guaranteed fail though like the Internet would like you to believe along with its use being deemed “ illegal “ ?

Not sure as put a mileage and exhaust change in at the same time, increase of 4k on miles and the exhaust mod added £27 inc the £13 admon fee, so probably no ... lol

I heard recently of an Aston failing its MOT due to a non-standard (Quicksilver) back box - bit of a minefield really, so it put me off.

It’s the OPF / GPF delete part that also puts me off albeit on my R8 V10.
My GT8 gives me all the noise I could ever want but thankfully that was pre OPF and also has a titanium exhaust and no middle cats.
The V10 is virtually silent in comparison smile
