It started a couple of weeks ago,...when I turn on the ignition (and prior to starting) it beeps for a couple of seconds. No indication on dash as to why. Originally, thought it was PATS related (passive anti theft) bur manual indicates red light will flash if there is an error - it doesn't (also tried my second key and still the same).

Tempted to do a hard reset but don't want to because I'll need to get the auto fold mirrors reprogrammed.

Any thoughts?...

Is it the seat belt warning? Does the light on the dash come on?

As above! I'm used to the beep as I start up and then belt up, but recently I belted up first for some reason...

Was very weird not hearing it and I actually though something was wrong smile

Nice suggestion but unfortunately not the solution (have just tried that).

Its possible, but I don't think I'm going mad! - I'm sure it never used to do that before.

Are you talking about the solid tone - or the intermittant beep?

Pink friend - it's quite hot here matey wink

A propos your title Tony I have no idea why it is doing it but that constant high pitch beep is not on my DB9, and I've attracted my fair share of dogs yes

Thanks for your input, anyhow. At least it proves I have not entirely lost it.

My guess is it’s PATS related. Can’t help as to why, but the solid beep shouldn’t be there and it stops as your PATS lamp extinguishes.

You may well be right. Unfortunately, it's not a situation explained in the manual.

For those coming across similar issues in the future...

The cause of the beep turned out to be a faulty parking sensor (or parking sensor module).

Yes, this thread is a decade old, but thank you @thetees for coming back and letting us know what the problem was. I had this exact issue on the weekend. Saved me a lot of time troubleshooting.
