Ive got very squeaky brakes on a v8 vantage 10 plate, the issue seems most noticable when slowing down in traffic gradually from about 10 mph.

Does anyone know what could be done to make them quieter ?

It's because of how the pads are designed.

When your car is fully warm, and you are in a safe place, brake gently a few times to heat the brakes.
Then you need to do two or three heavy brakings, from higher speed.

Often that is enough to clear the build up of some kind of film, which can cause squealing.
Absence of heavy braking can sometimes create this problem.

If that does not solve the problem, it is probably workshop time.

Jon is right. That's exactly how to cure the squeak.

The OE pads are Pagid, the bedding in procedure is in the manual in later cars. If you dont brake hard very often they may need doing again.

Immediately followed by : Bedding In At High Speed 1 brake application with medium to high pedal pressure from approx
110mph to 50mph, without allowing the wheels to lock.

But I was not speeding me lud, simply following instructions. wink

I think they might have confused the road instructions with their track pad compounds wink

I’ve just had this and only happens turning left of right so I’ll try the braking thing. I am guilty of refraining from any heavy braking or aggressive braking.

This is madness, breaking the speed limit to break in your brakes. Wtaf. 😂😂

I had this with my Vantage S, an embarrassing squeal when braking at low speeds (around town etc). Tried the bedding in procedure etc as above but no change...in the end I had the workshop chamfer the leading edge of the pads and this solved it!

Interesting; I had Pagids fitted to the rears about six months ago. All fine until quite recently when, exactly like the OP, I hear a squeak when braking gently to a stop.

So why do Aston specify/Pagid make brake pads that squeak? It's never happened in any other car I've owned.

Obviously can't do 100-50; maybe 70-20 would do? We'll add it to the list of 'Weird things you have to when owning an Aston' like the misfire correction reset procedure spin

Yes, I was "forced" to do a couple of laps at the track to work in the brakes and reduce the squealing.

My V8V occasionally squeals if I've been driving in slow traffic a lot and braking very gently. As already said, to fix it just needs the odd "Warwickshire Tune-up" (similar to an "Italian Tune-up" but with wings rather than a horse). laugh

Porterfield pads sorted my 2007 V8V:s squeaky brakes once and for all. Plus no filthy wheels from the Pagid pads.

Same here, fit Porterfields last change, no more squeaks or dust
