Did mine yesterday. The end attached to the door is a bit of a FAFF. Make sure you have a thin flat blade screwdriver to release the clip. When inserted in the clip slot turn the screwdriver to release the clip once off rotate the ball joint and it will come of. The clip falls out of the door when you open it.
When you get the replacement you will see the clip that holds the ball joint on. Between it and the ball you will see a narrow slot it is this that the screwdriver goes into.

Mines popping back to the Main Dealers next week for a bit of work, which is well within the remit of the warranty but I've mentioned the door hinge, and the boot struts, as these are no longer keen on the idea of supporting the weight either.
Can anyone confirm, or deny that these will be covered by the Timeless one year used car warranty?

Just one other tip. The doors are really heavy. To remove the struts you need the doors in the widest open position. When you remove the old struts gravity does its job and they close..hard..make sure you chock them open. When you get the replacement you will see the clip that holds the ball joint on. Between it and the ball you will see a narrow slot it is this that the screwdriver goes into.

Out of curiousity:
is it normal that the struts ONLY keep the door open in the widest position?
So not as in other makes, where there usually also is a medium open position, where the door stays?
Thomas
Supposedly they'd be held open in any position, but the struts just aren't strong enough to do that. New ones typically hold from half-open to full-open. The older the struts are, the closer to full-open the holding capacity gets. The doors are fairly heavy and the way they're angled to open and close puts a lot of force on the struts.is it normal that the struts ONLY keep the door open in the widest position?

I was curious as to whether mine were 'normal' so spent a few minutes 'playing' with doors in my local dealer, you could pretty much age the cars based on their ability to hold the door open.
My boot struts were equally worn, struts on new cars would actively lift the boot open, where as mine tries to eat you if you don't open it fully.
