Sat Nav (again!)
Discussion
Hi,
I have a 2010 DB9, which I believe uses the HDD sat nav. It's OK, not great, but it does postcodes etc and gets me there eventually if I need it. However the maps are pretty out of date now! I see an article in the FAQ recommending a 2013 Volvo RTI upgrade, I assume the 2013 discs are recommended simply because the article was written around that time. Is there any reason why I couldn't use the most recent RTI discs?

Cheers,
Andy

Ive got these discs coming to me in the next few days so could normally feed back to you but I won’t have the car for 2 weeks. If you can wait that long I’ll drop you a line to say if they worked ????
Thanks, I'll go ahead and try them anyway. Doesn't seem to be any reason why not and it isn't going to break the bank. A mate at work has a modern Volvo, so I may even have a market if it doesn't work for me!

For HDD systems (MY08 - MY12) the latest navigation discs are the 2017/18 maps (production week 48, 2017).
It contains HERE maps (previous Navteq). It is Volvo part number 32214046 (Volvo RTI MMM+) and cost you around Euro 100 at the Volvo dealer.
I was told this will be the latest update, so no newer will be made (by Volvo) anymore for this system.
Installation this time took 210 minutes and went smooth as always. And no, you will still have the Aston boot logo, not the Volvo one :-)

Picking up this old thread but it is by far the most complete one.It contains HERE maps (previous Navteq). It is Volvo part number 32214046 (Volvo RTI MMM+) and cost you around Euro 100 at the Volvo dealer.

Any news if indeed the latest and final update for our HDD navigation system is the 2017/18 Volvo one (part number 32214046) or there is a 2019 newer one?

Do any of you guys know how to extrapolate info from this screen?
I mean, does map version having 2009 in it means that maps are actually from 2009?

Yep, that seems a almost 10 years old map. For 100 Euro you can upgrade to 2017/18 version (at your Volvo dealer, see my other post)I mean, does map version having 2009 in it means that maps are actually from 2009?

I have uhm...recuperated the updated discs online, but I am facing troubles in burning disc 1, since it's double layer.
Anyway, there are many services like this one that can provide the updated discs:

Haven’t used an in car nav in years Waze just way ahead! The Nav in my 2015 Vantage is an absolute joke tbh
I know, but being weird as I am, I despise having the phone hooked up on the windshield or somewhere else.I then revert in using the integrated sat nav in my cars just for the... clean cabin look.
I know I am weird!
To eject the disc I think you need to leave the key in position 2 ie ignition on and then the front of the unit slides down. I did mine a few months ago and spent ages trying to find an eject button. The front sliding cover may be a bit stiff. There are also instructions in the owners handbook.

Out of interest, do the updated maps have better on screen graphics, or is it Just a case of more recently built roads being added to the database?
I’ve done this update today (I followed the link above to purchase - delivered next day).Very easy to do, but no change in the graphics just updates to roads/hotels/points of interest etc. For £30 for six years of updates it was well worth it. Thank you for the links above. Regards, Dave.
