Evening all

I am after any suggestions for Aston friendly hotels or guest houses etc. I am looking to take the car away for a few days, along with the wife, but I am still not yet at the point where I am happy to leave the car just anywhere.

So any hotels where you have stayed and the parking was good, as in safe, secure, little chance of being knocked etc.

I know there is no such thing as completely safe, but I would like to at least try and reduce the risk.

Many thanks , your input is really appreciated

Kevin

When I had the Clio V6 I used to stay in Premier Inns however, since having the AM I've upped my game on hotels.

Not that I've gone all posh, and never will, however I put parking facilities first. Have a google for 4 star hotels wherever you fancy going, they're not all silly money.

If somewhere takes your fancy then have a look at the parking set-up on Google Maps.

Ignoring budgets , Buckland Manor in Broadway - car park in front of hotel and no trees with sap.
Parked there plenty of times in various nice cars , no issues.
Hotels quite nice too.

Beaverbrook hotel will let you park by the front door, if you ask and there is room, the main car park is ok with lots of room to find a spot away from everyone else. No problem with security as it has a manned gate to get in.

Coworth Park also has some parking for the nice stuff near the front door, but the main car park is not so good.

The Langley also has some good parking out the front, but the hotel and location are not as nice as the other two.

Few on here...

Don't think about going to The Lakeside. Parking is a public car park away from the hotel.

Took mine to Another Place in the summer Paul. Excellent! Fantastic fun driving the stunning roads from there to Windermere and back while my wife indulged in the spa.

You need to get to the point where you can leave it where you want...otherwise where's the enjoyment?

Then find a hotel you really like and go and stay there.

The Saunton Sands Hotel on the way to Ilfracombe from Barnstaple in North Devon , looked pretty secure the last time that I was there.

When I had to leave mine for a week at a boat hire company, I put the outdoor cover over it and locked the wire underneath (hardly a burglar deterrent but it may deter idly curious people). The fabric would also prevent casual scratches and marks from minor door impacts.

Just about any good country park type hotel should be ok. I’ll mention The Retreat at Elcot Park and Hambleton Hall in Rutland and the Cringletie at Peebles for starters.

You’d think so, but a lot of these often don’t have great parking. The spaces are often still too narrow, or the car parks aren’t really large enough if they’re hosting events. I’m not overly precious about the Astons but combination of width and long doors can make it harder to find spaces at times. I don’t want the doors coming in contact with someone else’s car any more than I’d want theirs touching mine.

Ended up in an EV charging space at le Manoir (with their permission) as it was the only space left I could have got in and then been able to get out of the car. Wedding, fortunately a seemingly civilised one, had taken much of the space.

Had one of the larger suites at the Four Seasons In Hampshire, where we’ve stayed before en route other places/with kids so not with AM, for a few nights and was disappointed that they weren’t prepared to allow me to leave the Vanquish out front, even though there was plenty of space. Choice was to either leave it in the car park round the back (where there was an event on) or using their valet parking. Entrance road angles also slightly catch the front of the S too. Although the rooms are good, and it’s a nice setting, the restaurant and wine list also lets it down.

These days I call and ask if they have wider spaces available and, if they can’t/it’s going to be pot luck, just take another car instead.
