DB7 Vantage 5.9…am I mad?
Discussion
This looks fully legit to me. One owner 16yr. He should and will know the car inside out. Ask for full declaration and you will be fine.
Remember you will inevitably spend big money on maintenance, and it is unlikely a DB7, even one with a V12 is unlikely to ever be regarded with the same fondness as what came before or indeed after.

Price is reasonable as the dark interior colours are not the most desirable and highish mileage. It’s really not true they are going up in value, prices have been flat/down for a while and I don’t see them going up for a long time. Just too many made and not special enough a driving experience to merit the cost of maintenance.
Not wishing to rain on any parades, but the driving experience really is the issue with these. They look gorgeous but are not at all sporty to drive, and despite the power, never feel at all fun or exhilarating.
Personally, I soon realised that every time I was going anywhere I was never choosing the DB7 - even our 1 litre Polo was ahead in preference - so despite having lusted after one for years, I sold mine within a year.

If you want an affordable blast, try a Griffith.

I have heard rumours about a new Griffith. Perhaps it is hush, hush.
Sounds exciting.
Someone mentioned that customer deliveries have been promised for this year.
Cannot wait.
Hope this year does not mean Christmas, because I like driving sports cars in the summer.

Don't hold your breath, there have been rumours about it ever since the factory closed. It seems to be composed of spin, CGI and thin air. Just get THE Griff. I had a 4.0 and 500. If I had the space and my 500 came up for sale, I'd buy it back.Simpo Two said:
It seems very cheap. Why did he drop the price?
DB7s were cheap (by Aston standards) 10+ years ago but in the last few years they've approached DB9 money.
And yes you do have to be mad because Astons make no sense whatsoever. If you wanted sense you'd buy a Ford Focus
People sell for all sorts of reasons. Need cash? Make your asset more affordable..DB7s were cheap (by Aston standards) 10+ years ago but in the last few years they've approached DB9 money.

Approach with your eyes open and you could end up with a very nice DB7V. It will cost money. A bad one will cost much more...
"The price reflects that it needs a few things doing to make perfect, for example the window motors are not working properly, they still work but go up a bit at a time. Come to see it and you'll not be disappointed. Note that it shows up as exported, I moved to France for 4 years and had to register the car in France, then re-register it on the original V5 when I moved back. Silver, 4 owners, £17,999"
I've had mine for ten years.
90% of the new Aston experience at 10% of the price.
Instead of paying for depreciation you pay for servicing. But over ten years it has worked out much cheaper for me than buying a new car.

Looks ok but private seller? He has more cars than most dealers right now.
If you check the MOT History it makes pretty unsettling reading . A much better buy for the OP at this price point would be the Jaguar X150 XKR . Aluminium construction , Supercharged with a V8 engine its a far better better driving dynamic than any DB7 .

Its a beauty , head and shoulders above all Astons within that period . Was it Clarkson who said , " I would arrive in the Aston but drive there in the XK "https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301093...

Didn’t think I’d say this, but I’d have that XKR over the DB7 Vantage. I really like the DB7, especially the Vantage version, but buying a Jag from a Jag dealer should hopefully give you one year peace of mind (relatively).https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301093...
Objectively the Jag is the better car, especially if you want it as a daily driver.
But if you want it as a weekend special car:
'I own a Jag' or 'I own an Aston Martin' ?
V8 engine vs V12
Both are fine looking cars but I prefer the Aston looks.
The Aston will sound better especially with a sports exhaust.
The Jag may depreciate more than the Aston.
Ultimately it is down to individual preferences on cars like these.

To assist…the window regulators have packed up if the windows are doing as described. If you reset them and the problem persists, they are £400 a side. Before you fit them. So there’s £1k before you go any further. Check heater blowers, if they make a noise or don’t work, there’s another £2k.

Been tracking XKRs for a while, very static pricing around low £20s upwards for sensible miles ones. But if you want it as a weekend special car:
