OK you could argue that the front looks like a New Mini's dad, and the internal air vents were inspired by a frog, but I rather like it!

Love that video. AM have made faster cars, better handling cars and more reliable cars, but *nothing* has hit the fecking awesome button like the '80s V8 Vantage! The look, the sound and the sheer presence of that car is fabulous.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hv_DEwnJTQ

Most AM's have motorised valves.
This is why EV's are boring.
If you cannot appreciate this you are on the wrong forum.
Ten years from now all will be quiet - and boring.
Enjoy them while you can, if not buy a Prius or get a life.

Some enjoy loud exhausts, some just think it a hideous and unnecessary noise. But of course in your mind those who find it offensive should just grin and bear it, as having their ears assaulted is a small price to pay so others can be annoying tMost AM's have motorised valves.

I am interested to know Neil, how you have made your Aston Martin quieter?
As standard, there is quite a bark when accelerating, so have you had additional mufflers fitted, in the exhaust system before the back box?
Or have you had a different back box made specially, to reduce noise level?
Are the new vehicle noise regulations, different in the United States from the United Kingdom ?
Tests here are carried out at specific engine revs, which as you will know, is why the exhaust valve mechanism is incorporated.

Maximum noise levels from cars are set by individual states, but I'm sure they won't be any more that the 72db limit you have.

New York is so fed up with loud exhausts that they introduced a $1,000 fine with the possibility of 30 days in jail. And not just the driver of the car but also the garage that did the 'work'.
But later they increased the fine to $3,000 and are now looking to increase the fine to $6,000

California, in my opinion has a far better system. No fines but you have a finite time to get the noise fixed and have it checked. If not, the registration is revoked, and if caught driving again the car is impounded for 30 days. Fee for the impound $136.50 and $42.50 per day storage, so $1411.50 total.
And if it's not collected after 30 days.

I have never in my life known anyone in CA to have their cars impounded or fined for loud exhaust. Thankfully most cops have more important things than to impound for being too loud. The cars in these videos are for the most part not street legal anyway.California, in my opinion has a far better system. come on guys, it was just a bit of fun, a rebuilt
large capacity old two valve cross planeV8 with an open pipe on an old airfield. Isn’t that what ‘Pistonheads’ was supposed to be about?
I agree. But when someone starts being all stupid about noise, you can't just let it go. come on guys, it was just a bit of fun, a rebuilt

I don't own an Aston Martin, so of course can't comment on the noise they make.

If a perfectly standard, brand new Aston Martin accelerates in New York, it might be quite noisy with sound bouncing off the skyscrapers.
Could that driver be fined or jailed ?
Who would be chosen from the firm who did the work ?
The CEO is a 76 year old Italian gentleman. Would require the extradition procedure, but In view of his age, will the jail staff look after him carefully?
