I’m a relatively new owner of a Vantage V8S, I’m getting a slight vibration/ judder in the steering wheel at speeds over 80mph, I’ve booked the car in for a service next week and for them to look into this, but I was wondering if this is common or what might cause it.

I've not experienced it on my Aston, but I have on previous vehicles. Many times it came down to wheel balancing. I'm sure the Service department can sort it.

I'd say yours is a wheel balance requirement or new tyres if its been sitting around for a while.

I've not long had my 2nd V8V and have noticed a clonking noise from the front end. Service records show a nut n bolt breakdown and still nothing found..
Not sure if anyone's come across this..

Had exactly the same on my Vanquish when I changed wheels - fixed after wheel balancing.

I had this recently on my V8V too. When hitting Warp Factor 10 I'd get a slight wobble on the steering wheel.

It never used to do it, but for some unknown reason getting the wheels re-balanced solved it completely. A bit bizarre really, as I hadn't kerbed it and none of the balance weights had dropped off. No reason at all for the wheels to go out of balance.

Still, a cheap enough fix for £30.

Get the whole geometry correctly re-calibrated by someone with a Hunter machine or the like.

Individual wheel balance , while it may be at fault , may not be the solution.

Thanks for the response from everyone👍

Also an old guy walking his dog came over to me today saying how nice the car was, only to be asked if it was a diesel or petrol model 🤦‍♂️

The most common comment I get about my Vantage, "Nice car! What is it?"

While getting the service also get them to check the wheels are not bent ie true round, this can also cause a vibration if you have a bent wheel from a pot hole.

What suspension is fitted? Clunking on these cars can appear where suspension is fitted without the rubber isolation, race type suspension is often solid mounts. I had Nitron R1 adjustable racing suspension on my car and had it removed as I couldn’t get used to the clunking.

Hi Mate,

The suspension looks stock to me. The knock feels more like it comes through the steering wheel.
I'm not sure if there are any bushes in the rack that may be a common issue..

Cheers,

Gary.
