Can’t get my head round this…
Discussion
Before the mods move it for being non AM specific, here is one to cause some head scratching.
With values of DB7 being as they are, and it still being possible to pick up mid 2000’s DB9 and Vantage for as little as £20-25k, we see this…..

All understood guys. But come on….
Well if a Cosworth Sierra is what you want, then ok, this is clearly a mint one. Made me think though, and look at the PH for sale page.... If I had 600k to drop on a car, it would actually be a few cars! For example;or, for just a little more...
or one of these and a few from the top. Wow.
Perhaps if you have just one car missing from your fast Ford collection set, and £1 million is just 10 minutes of crude oil coming up out of your land, the bidding price probably becomes irrelevant.
Wouldn't it be funny (of the two bidders mentioned) if the UK person just happened to be the vendor.

Drove through Esher on the way home today. Don't normally, but Google Maps was taking me around traffic on M25. or, for just a little more...

I did notice three classic VW camper vans passing in the traffic, which struck me as a bit odd. Obviously they are a rich man's play thing now, so perhaps not!

Seems odd to me that a DB4 should be worth £125k more than a 1930 International.
I think there is sometimes a link, between buyers and the period of classic cars.
Often people like to own what they can remember when growing up.
With this aspect in mind, the generation who were teenagers during the 1930s, are sadly becoming fewer.
I believe it is now said, that the demand and therefore values of pre-war cars (obviously exceptions) are now in decline.

And £123,750 for a 2010 Defender at the same auction!
Perhaps more understandable. A unique car. One very special previous owner.
On the subject of famous previous owners, do you remember the buyer of an ex-James Saville car, who bought at high price, just before a certain news story made the headlines? Oops.
