Help requested - Garmin SatNav on VH Vantage or DB9
Discussion
I'm after some help from PH'ers who have the Garmin SatNav system in their VH Aston. These are the systems that don't have a DVD drive, but have the ECU that accepts SD cards. I'd like you to check and post your software version and the current day/month/year your system is showing.
The reason for the request is my Garmin system is not calculating the date correctly (I have posted about this before) and I'm now in the middle of a "They all do that, Sir" type conversation. I still think my system is faulty. This is where you can help, by showing that there are AML Garmin systems out there still working as intended. Your system will probably have automatically adjusted for the recent change to Daylight Saving (in the UK at least)
To help you find the numbers I'm after, please open your SatNav onto the "Home" screen (which shows "Where to" and "Maps") and select:
Note the "GPS"
Note the "GTM"
Select "Back" until you're back at the "Home" screen, then select:
Your help would be much appreciated as I can use this evidence to try to get my system fixed.
Just for your info, my system shows:
Yes, you're right. My system currently thinks it's not yet the millennium; previously it has been 14 years in the future. The actual Navigation still works flawlessly.
Thanks in anticipation

Hi LTP
Just checked mine and this is what I have. I did source (not through an AM MD) and fit a new Garmin SD card a couple of years ago. Not sure if that would make any difference though.
Software Version - 4.08
Dealerships - 3.00
GPS - 3.10
GTM - 3.00
Mon Apr 03 2023 and showing the correct time too.
HTH
Best Regards

Thanks Richard,
Like you I'm running with a Garmin card for map update rather than an "official" AML card, but I'm told by my dealer that they've already tried an AML card and, as expected, it made no difference.
You've identified one potential area to investigate though, as I was told that my main software version of 4.02 was the latest, yet you apparently have 4.08. And the biggest help is that your system knows what the date is (or, more accurately, can calculate it correctly from the satellite signal).
Hopefully a few more owners will chip in with their data so I can get a wider consensus.

Just bumping this one more time to see if I can get a few more responses before I present the evidence to my dealer, with thanks to all those who have contributed so far.
For those with the Garmin SatNav in their V8V or DB9 (introduced around 12MY I believe, and also fitted to other models) the instructions for what I'm after and how to find it are in my first post. Thanks in anticipation

Conclusion - nearly
Just in case this thread is ever turned up by another PH'er using "Search", I thought I'd update it to the latest status.
As of this morning the problem with my system appears to have been fixed. Once more my SatNav knows exactly what date and time it is.
Due to the diligence of my local AML main dealer's (Grange) Parts and Service department (and one particularly knowledgeable Tech called Gary) it turns out that, included unmentioned in the latest official AML maps SD card, is a software update. Up until now I'd been using a (much cheaper) Garmin SD card for updating my maps, but once I bought and installed the latest official Aston Martin SD card my software level went from 4.02 to 4.10 and the system once more calculated the date correctly from the satellite data.
Thanks to all who contributed their data - I think it was this that gave a clue that somehow there was a software level available beyond the last official software-only update (4.02) listed in Service bulletins.
From what my dealer told me yesterday It would appear that AML will not be issuing any further map updates for the VH Garmin-based navigation system, so the one thing that I shall do in the near future is to remove the new AML SD card and replace it with my old Garmin card to see if the software update is read-only from the SD card, or if the card has permanently updated the SatNav firmware.
I hope it's the latter, as this will allow the use of Garmin map updates for the foreseeable future without losing the correct time calculation. I'll report the results in this thread.
