The answer is probably yes.
The world seems to have moved on though.
A smartphone placed on an adjustable magnetic dashboard disc, seems to be the popular method these days.
Using Google (or other) navigation together with a (live) display of how long the traffic jam ahead is and whether it is slow moving, or stationary.

I'm not a satnav expert, but I think modern built-in systems can do live traffic. I hate the sight of a lovely dashboard with a smartphone stuck on it.

For a car to have a built-in system including live traffic, would a subscription with sim card be necessary, as the source of live data?
Perhaps live data is provided within car prices, by some manufacturers.
I do use a smart phone in my daily driver, but never seem to need navigation when driving my Vantage.
The screen is opened occasionally though, to keep the mechanism happy.

What was the name of those dark blue detectors on poles that could tell if traffic was moving or not? Not sure where the data but wasn't it picked up by radio?You don't need a SIM card or subscription to get radio (yet!).

I think it was called Trafficmaster.
We saw blue detectors being fitted to bridges and poles from the late 1990s onwards. The RAC became involved at one stage.
There must have been high hopes, but then later Google arrived with a free service, which did not need any infrastructure of poles and detectors.
I think Google use peoples' mobile phone signals to judge traffic speeds. How they can distinguish between a slow moving pedestrian and just a few feet away, a moving vehicle I have never understood. We need some magic in life though.
Surprisingly, Trafficmaster seem to still be in business, offering their services to haulage and fleet operators.
Wonder if live traffic information is an optional extra monthly subscription cost for the DB12 ?
Paying for something, which is already in the owners pocket.

I don’t bother with any built-in satnav on any car. All irrelevant after using Apple CarPlay or the Android equivalent.Talk to https://astoninstallations.com/ who can get this integrated seamlessly into your car. I’m always amazed how much having Google Maps (Waze or whatever) on the screen along with Spotify (or any other music service) transforms how you use your car.

I'm not much into 'infotainment ' though for many it seems to be more important than the rest of the car these days. A few radio stations suits me fine.

Do you have AMI3? I believe just before the end of the VH Vantage production they updated the AMI to its third iteration which I believe does not receive updates via physical hardware (CD/DVD or SD card) but indirectly; I'm not sure which way, either over air or via the dealer.SHIFTY said:

On a roadster with SD card its under the tonneau cover and on coupe I am sure its in the boot.
